Great technical and artistic skills mean nothing if you can't bring them together to produce world-class quality products on time and on budget. Project management is another of Glass Egg's core capabilities - we wouldn't have been able to create 17 interactive titles as well as dozens of other game projects without it. While overall project supervision is handled by our senior producer and executive producer, most of the day-to-day responsibility for sticking to the schedule and delivering the good stuff is down to our highly skilled Vietnamese producers. This level of management skill is difficult to acquire, since it involves careful up-front planning, making countless daily decisions, managing the needs and expectations of clients, and ensuring the staff has the information and tools it needs to work properly.
The only effective way to learn to be a producer is to train on the job, dealing with real problems in real time. Glass Egg's four current producers each have numerous projects to their name and have proven that they can handle the tremendous demands of this job without requiring constant therapy. Together, they have more than 30 years of game production experience.
Producing high quality game art isn't easy, and Glass Egg is proud to employ computer artists that can hold their own against those based anywhere in the world. In order to ensure our artists are at the top of their game, Glass Egg has an extensive and aggressive in-house training program, which allows us to main consistently high levels of skill and build capacity in advance of need. All of Glass Egg's 3D artists began their careers in a more traditional discipline, for instance as sculptors, painters or traditional cell animators. Only after the artist has demonstrated a proficiency in composition, drawing, color, etc, are they trained in a new medium: computer graphics, beginning with basic computer and file management. In other words, except in rare cases, Glass Egg does not try to take computer experts and teach them to be artists.
All of our artists are well versed in the art of making 3D assets and environments for PC and console games. We have created a tremendous amount of 3D art for games using a variety of 3D engines. Our main development tools are 3D Studio Max, Maya, Photoshop and Zbrush.
Nearly all of Glass Egg's programmers have worked together in Vietnam since 1996, which was when they first began to produce the computer code for 2D titles in Vietnam. As a result, we're not exaggerating when we say that our programmers are one of the most experienced production teams in the world. They are intimately familiar with all aspects of game programming, from overall architecture and problem solving to the testing and the QA needed to guarantee our products are world-class.
And did we mention that all of the programmers graduated near the top of their class at the most prestigious polytechnic universities in Vietnam? No? Well, they did. Their talent, passion and dedication to developing their technical skills and knowledge means that they're quick to learn new programming languages and are always actively seeking programming challenges. Oh daddy, yes they are. To date the team is well versed in C++, Visual Basic, SQL, Flash, HTML, Director, Java, and Perl.
